I heard someone pray that they wanted peace and comfort in their life for the New Year.
I understand this type of prayer, as I want the same, much like I am sure most of us do.
However, Christ promised us a very different life if we want to follow him. Matthew 10:34-35, “Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword, for I am come to set a man against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.”
