Anderson County sophomore Austin Dillow has qualified for the state high school cross country meet for the second consecutive year.
Dillow turned in a strong performance, covering the 5K course at Lexington's Masterson Station Park in 18:32.80, good enough for 12th place overall. He was the second at-large qualifier.
Teammate Kiefer Williams just missed the cut, with an 18:55.20, just behind Bryan Station's Josh Chadwell, who ran the course in 18:55 flat to claim the final at-large berth from Class AAA, Region 6.
Maggie Conley also just missed on the girls' side, finishing five seconds and one place behind Lafayette's Miranda Mullins, the last individual qualifier.
The top four boys' teams and top three girls' teams made the state along with the top five individuals not on those teams.
Dillow will race at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14 at the state meet at the Kentucky Horse Park.
