Council tees off on allowing golf carts on city streets

By Shannon Brock

Driving a golf cart on a public road in Lawrenceburg still has a chance to be legalized by the Lawrenceburg City Council.

After being approached by a couple of citizens, Mayor Edwinna Baker brought up for discussion the possibility of allowing golf carts on public roads at last week’s regular council meeting.

The issue was discussed by the council during a July work session, but hadn’t been revisited. In July, council members suggested that the city gather more information from other Kentucky cities who have allowed the vehicles on public roads.
