The local Department of Motor Vehicles office will be closed Tuesday, Aug. 14 for the installation of new equipment, Circuit Court Clerk Jan Rogers announced.
No licenses, permits or state identification cards will be issued that day.
The equipment is part of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s effort to introduce tamper-resistant licenses, that will include a digital watermark, bank note-level fine line printing, dual-side lamination and a hologram “ghost” image, according to a news release from the state’s transportation cabinet.
