Pottery Class
A local potter is offering a class through Anderson Community Education. Titled “Crash Course Pottery,” the classes will be held Nov. 11, 12 and 19 at Susan Burge’s studio at 1221 Johnson Road, Lawrenceburg.
The Nov. 11 class is for ages 12-18 and will be from 6 to 8 p.m.
The Nov. 12 class is for ages 8-12 and will be from 2 to 4 p.m.
The Nov. 19 class is for ages 16 and up and will be from 2 to 4 p.m.
Cost is $40 for each class, and includes instruction and supplies for firing and glazing four pieces. Limit is four students per class. Classes are for beginners and include demonstrations, hands-on wheel throwing and hand building. Students are advised they will get dirty and asked to dress appropriately.

Boot Camp Fitness
When: Tuesdays and Saturdays Nov. 8-Dec. 17. Tuesday hours are 6-7:30 p.m.; Saturday hours are 9-10:30 a.m.        
Where:  Emma B. Ward Elementary gym with certified instructor Todd Barrick
Cost: $60 for 10 sessions
Description: This boot camp class is held twice a week and has five different fitness interval exercises.

Wreath Making
When: Tuesday, Nov. 8 beginning at 7 p.m.
Where: Anderson Public Library with instructor Paula Mullins
Cost: Free
Description: This class is part of the fall gardening series presented on the second Tuesday of each month.

GED and college prep
The Adult Learning Center is now open from 8 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Monday through Thursday. Bluegrass Community and Technical College is open for GED/college prep classes from noon until 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Call the main office at 839-3754 for information about enrolling.
