Saffell Street collects gifts
Saffell Street Elementary students and staff will be collecting new, unwrapped Christmas gifts through Dec. 13 for children in Anderson County.
To monitor progress, a tree will be placed in the school lobby and each child that donates an item will get to add his or her name to the school’s giving tree. Drop donations off in either the Family Resource Room or in Mrs. Sawyer’s office or in the box in the front lobby.
Saffell Street Elementary is accepting the following gifts for the drive. Please make sure all donations are new and unwrapped:
*New boys, girls clothing
*New boys or girls shoes, socks
*New Games, toys, books, dolls, etc.
*Store gift cards
*New slippers, pajamas
Dial receives graduate
Emily Dial of Lawrenceburg received her advanced clinical practice degree from Frontier Nursing University during graduation ceremonies held last month in Hyden. Dial graduated with a post-master’s degree in midwifery.
Frontier Nursing University, a graduate school of nursing and midwifery, offers distance-learning programs, educating nurse-midwives and nurse practitioners who provide primary care for women and families residing in all areas, with a focus on rural and underserved communities.
Dial resides in Lawrenceburg with her husband, Daniel. She currently practices as both a certified nurse midwife and women’s health nurse practitioner at Women’s Care of the Bluegrass in Frankfort. She is a 2002 graduate of Anderson County High School.
She received her associate’s degree in nursing from KSU in 2004, her bachelor’s degree from McKendree College in Louisville in 2007 and her master’s in women’s health in 2010 from Frontier Nursing University.
