Fair, horse show starts Saturday

Annual event features laser tag, ATV races

After 141 years, the annual Lawrenceburg Fair and Horse Show is still going strong, and ready to offer a week of laser tag, carnival rides, championship horse shows, mud races, pageants and more for 2013.
The 2013 Lawrenceburg Fair and Horse Show, sponsored by the American Legion and Auxiliary Unit 34, will kick off on Saturday, June 22 and end Saturday, June 29.
Gate admission is $10 per person per night and all carnival rides, shows and events are free with gate admission.
New events for 2013 include “ZOOperstars,” a Truck Mud Run on June 29 at 7 p.m. at the Legion pulling track, and Red Dragon Laser Tag offered June 24-June 29 from 6-11 p.m. Laser tag is free with paid admission to the fair.
The ATV drag race is returning this year for Monday, June 24 with the gates opening at 5 p.m. and runs beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the pulling track.
Also new this year to the Fair and Horse Show is championship chainsaw carver Dennis Beach, who will be showing off his artistic skills Tuesday, June 25 and Wednesday, June 26.
The fairgrounds are located at 725 West Broadway in Lawrenceburg, one block east on US 62 off the 127 Bypass.
Box seat tickets are $75 and include four passes and reserved parking for one car for the horse show nights, which will be held Tuesday, June 25 through Friday, June 28. Box seats do not include the price of carnival rides.
