The high school FFA will host its fifth annual greenhouse sale April 28 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Anderson County High School
“This is where we make most of our money for our department and our chapter,” said co-adviser of the FFA Brandon Fawbush. “It’s probably the closest related fundraiser to class.”
Fawbush said greenhouse class students learn how to market, sell and advertise for the greenhouse sale, as well as learning how to properly care for the flowers and vegetables.
Fawbush estimated that the FFA will raise about $4,000-5,000 for this year’s sale.
This year’s sale will also feature a FFA Alumni cook out, Fawbush said. Anyone interested in supporting the FFA, or who was once a member of the FFA is welcome to join, he said.
Annual dues for the FFA Alumni group, which meets the first Thursday of every month at 6 p.m. at the high school, are $20.
The alumni group discusses what the FFA is currently doing, if they need assistance with funding, scholarships for graduating seniors and upcoming community events, Fawbush said.
