Chakeres Theatre has settled a discrimination complaint for $5,000 and will close its Frankfort movie theater in January, according to a report Monday by the Kentucky Human Rights Commission.
The company, which operates a theater in the Franklin Square Shopping Center, denied any violation of state law and affirmed it will comply with civil rights laws. The closure will leave Frankfort without a first-run movie theater.
