FRANKFORT -- Franklin County led from wire-to-wire as the Flyers rolled to a 62-41 win over Anderson County in boys' basketball action on Friday night.
Franklin used its quickness to completely disrupt the Anderson offensive attack, building a 30-13 halftime lead and then never allowing Anderson to get closer than 14 points in the second half. Franklin's margin topped out at 58-36 late in the fourth quarter.
“All year long, we have been emotionally charged, but tonight we weren't,” said Anderson coach Glen Drury.
When asked if his team might have been already thinking about next week's 30th District Tournament, Drury said, “I hope so. Next week is what we have been shooting for all year.”
Anderson will enter Monday's district elimination game with Eminence with a 7-16 record. Franklin, the top seed in the 41st District, improved to 12-13.
Logan Woodside led Anderson with 20 points while Ethan Kelly scored 8.
