Garvis Nowlin Birdwhistell, 88

Garvis Nowlin Birdwhistell, 88, of Lawrenceburg, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at Frankfort Regional Medical Center.
 He was the son of the late Gilbert Nolan and Mamie Pearl Hawkins Birdwhistell. He was a member of Sand Spring Baptist Church, and served in the Army during WWII. He was retired from Lawrenceburg Police Department, Kentucky Department of Transportation and was an auto mechanic.  He was a member of Anderson Lodge #90 and was their oldest member since 1953. He was also a Kentucky Colonel.
