Gemmell's steal, layup send Lady Cats past Mercer; Royalty's defense spurs win

HARRODSBURG - The only question is whether Christy Gemmell would have enough time.

The Anderson County guard scooped up a loose ball, then drove for the game-winning layup with 1.7 seconds to spare, propelling the Lady Bearcats to a 53-51 win at Mercer County Monday night.

On a night when the score was tied 8 times and the lead changed hands five more, Gemmell's second basket of the night was the biggest.
