Geraldine Baxter Peyton, 75, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at her residence.
She was the wife of the late Ralph Peyton and was born in Mercer County to the late Homer Francis and Emma Drury Baxter.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara J. Peyton, and her brother, Collis Duane Baxter.
She was a retired secretary with Kentucky Overall in Lawrenceburg and a member of the Sand Spring Baptist Church and the Faithful Workers Sunday School Class. She was known for her love of auctions.
Geraldine is survived by a son, Brian Keith Peyton (Holly Stratton); two grandsons, Braden Kyle Peyton and Cameron Scott Peyton, all of Lawrenceburg; a half sister, Carol Ann Pinkston (Jimmy) of Mercer Co.; three half brothers, Billy Sanford (Doris) of Mercer Co., Darrell Sanford (Sue) of Nicholasville, and Gary Sanford (Kathy) of Mercer Co.; a stepsister Ida Rose Bottoms of Bardstown; a half-brother Harold Sanford (Ann) of Texas; a special niece Monica Jackson of California; two special friends Phyllis Sharp and Pauline Cook; and her beloved dog “Corkey.”
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 17 at 11 a.m. at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Dr. Mike Hamrick officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, Jan. 16 from 5:30–9 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Braden and Cameron Peyton, Darrell Sanford, Audie Baxter, Kenneth Peach, Maurice Corn, Ronnie Sharp, Johnny Dennis, Michael Profit and Steve Sanford.
Honorary bearers will be Billy and Gary Sanford, and Jimmy Pinkston.
