Former UK coach Billy Gillispie checked himself into a substance-abuse rehabilitation program earlier this week, according to several media outlets.
Gillispie was pulled over near Emma B. Ward Elementary School in the early morning hours on Aug. 27. He was arrested and charged with DUI.
WKYT.com is reporting that Gillispie entered the John Lucas After Care Program in Houston.
It is unclear how long Gillispie's stay will be in the program, but he is scheduled to appear in Anderson County District Court on Oct. 5 at 9 a.m. for a disposition hearing.
The Anderson News confirmed that as of Wednesday morning, no request had been received to delay that court appearance.
The incident in Anderson County was the third time Gillispie had been arrested on DUI-related charges, although he has never been convicted of DUI.
