GIRLS BASKETBALL: Lady Bearcats pound Shelby

Anderson County took care of business last Wednesday night, routing host Shelby County, 69-36, in a girls' 30th District basketball game.

Anderson outscored Shelby in every quarter, methodically pulling away from the last district school to defeat the lady Bearcats. It marked Anderson's 25th straight win over district opponents since losing to Shelby in overtime in the championship game of the 2008 district tournament.

Anderson improved to 18-1, Shelby fell to 11-8.
