Goldie Buntain Montgomery, 88, of Lawrenceburg, widow of Marvin C. Montgomery, died Friday, Aug. 23, 2013 at her residence.
She was the daughter of the late Henry Lawrence and Lydia Ann Maddox Buntain. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Christian Church and retired from Kings Daughter Memorial Hospital in Frankfort as a supply clerk.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sheila Fay Jesse; six brothers, Forrest, Kenneth, Raymond, Winfred, Roy, and Bert Buntain; and a stepbrother, Shirley Cox.
She is survived by two sons, William Allen Montgomery, Webster, and Michael Ray Montgomery, Lawrenceburg; daughter, Dianna (Joe) Lovo, Louisville; 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren; half brothers, Gary Buntain, Cornishville, James Buntain, Lawrenceburg, Henry and Arthur Beasley, both of Benton; stepbrother, Bobby Cox, Mercer County; three stepdaughters, Edna Burgin, Judy Cecil and Goldie Kustus; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Aug. 27 at Gash Memorial Chapel with Bro. Roy Temple, Jr. officiating. Burial followed in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.
Casketbearers were Larry Buntain, Raymond Buntain, Edward Buntain, Danny Burgin, D.J. Burgin, Garry Gilbert, Jeremy Kinberger and Harl Allen, and all others were honorary bearers.
