The government can't fix everything but God can

-A A +A

Each time this country has gone through an unimaginable ordeal, God has prepared has spiritually. Just as the Great Awakening readied us for the War for Independence, revival swept the land in 1858, preparing North and South for what was about to happen.

Following God’s plan requires us following Jesus’ Great Commandments: to love God with all our heart and mind and soul and being, and to love our neighbors as ourselves. If we would do that, God would bless us.

In my lifetime, the moral standards of our society have deteriorated at a rate that is staggering. The most frightening is that Christians are immune to the decay. Corruption in our government is blatant and people just shrug their shoulders saying thins like “those people are our ruining our country.” Is there really anything that can be done? I believe that the problems are past any human solution.

However, with God, everything is possible. Christian’s hearts need to turn to God in desperation and repentance seeking the face of our God. I believe that the only hope for America is a full scale, national revival. If you do not believe this, then you area acknowledging that you do not believe in Almighty God. Are we people of faith?

We cannot wait any longer. In order for revival to spread from coast to coast and border to border, more than a remnant of us must take God’s promise in 2 Chronicles 7:14 to heart. We must repent individually first, seek His face, and turn from our wicked ways. Only God can help us. The government cannot fix anything.

We need to be that go between, that intercessor between the hurting people of our community and our nation.

I can only pray that I have convinced you to join me along with other Christians from Anderson County this Thursday, May 1, between 12:15 p.m. – 12:40 p.m. on the front lawn of the Anderson County Courthouse. To God, there are no denominations, only His children, His church.

As we gather, Christians all across our country will be uniting in prayer with us. Do not miss the opportunity to intercede for our nation and her people. If you cannot be there, be on your knees wherever you are on Thursday and pray for our nation. Can you hear the trumpet sounding? May the grace and peace of our Lord Jesus be with you.
