Hated for your love of God? Congrats!

-A A +A

Do you ever step back and take notice of how terribly our culture is rapidly disintegrating from a moral standpoint?
Many celebrities and so-called role models showcase themselves with sexual immorality and vile behavior that mocks the rules and guidelines set out for Christians in the Bible.
Homosexuality, violence and broken families are the new norm. Sin is accepted in our society and portrayed as glamorous.
The Bible teaches us that this type of problem is not altogether new. Isaiah 3:8-9, “Jerusalem staggers, Judah is falling; their words and deeds are against the LORD, defying his glorious presence. The look on their faces testifies against them; they parade their sin like Sodom; they do not hide it. Woe to them! They have brought disaster upon themselves.”
Christians are meant to live differently than the rest of the world. This is often hard to do, and Christ is very specific about how the world will hate Christians for the lifestyle they live.
Christians in this world today are persecuted and even murdered for their faith. Are you living as part of the current cultural world of as part of the world that God wishes for you? For those who are living a life that sets them apart from the world we live in, there is hope even when it doesn’t always feel that way.
Isaiah 3:10-11, “Tell the righteous it will be well with them, for they will enjoy the fruit of their deeds. Woe to the wicked! Disaster is upon them! They will be paid back for what their hands have done.”
The reason that most professing Christians are powerless in our spiritual walk is that we want to hold onto God with one hand, and hold on just as tightly to the world with the other (DL Moody). Which side of the American culture do you live on?  If asked, would your friends and those around you recognize you as a Christian?  If not, why not?
