This year’s flu shot is only a car trip away.
The Anderson County Health Department will be offering a free drive-in flu shot clinic Oct. 22 from 4-7 p.m. at the health department facilities, located at 1080 Glensboro Road in Lawrenceburg.
The flu shot clinic is available to uninsured adults residing in Anderson County, according to Health Department Director Tim Wright.
“You don’t have to get out of your car; it’s just drive thru and drive out,” Wright said.
Wright said those residents with health insurance such as Medicare, Medicaid or Humana are welcome to come to the health department during their regular business hours Monday through Friday to receive a flu vaccination.
Anderson County EMS will also be present to assist, as well as the ham radio club in directing traffic on Glensboro Road. There will also be a city police officer to assist with traffic.
Last year the health department served about 320 people at the flu shot clinic, Wright said.
Supplies are limited, and the flu shots will be first-come, first-served.
Participants are not required to present identification in order to receive a flu shot, the health department said.
