A heart, please

Carla Sparrow, the 22-year-old woman featured in the May 28 edition of The Anderson News, received the heart transplant she'd been waiting five weeks for early Wednesday morning, according to family and friends.

"God has answered our prayers and found her a heart," said Michael Wright, father of Carla's two-year-old son, Blake. "She was prepped and went into the procedure between 3:30 and 5 a.m. this morning (May 28)."

Friends and family said Carla remains at the medical center and is recuperating as expected.
