High school plans Parent Connection Night on March 23

Parents and students are invited to Parent Connection Night, March 23 from 3:30 to 6 p.m. at Anderson County High School.
The evening will include parent-teacher conferences along with colleges and universities from across Kentucky, service personnel and local career representatives will be participating in a college/career fair and mini-workshops.
“It is never too early to start planning for post-secondary options with your students. Likewise, it is also never too late to initiate new plans and career opportunities for yourself,” school officials said in a news release.
Throughout the evening, students and parents can with numerous professionals, learning tips on how to start a small business, where to begin with college planning, how to serve your country and go to college at the same time, and what questions students need to ask on a college visit.
Featured workshops will be from 5 to 5:20 p.m. and 5:30 to 5:50 p.m. Representatives from Bluegrass Community and Technical Center, Morehead State University, University of the Cumberlands and Lindsey Wilson will be presenting, among others.  
Also in attendance for the college/career fair will be McDonald’s, Caldwell Tanks, Lois Ann Disponett Realty, Cann Tech, Katz, Asbury College, Eastern Kentucky University, Northern Kentucky University, Sullivan University, University of Kentucky, Western Kentucky University, United States Army, Navy and Marines. More College/Career booths will be added throughout the week.     
At 2 p.m., senior and junior students will have the opportunity to rotate through the college/career fair in the east wing’s Gym C.  Underclassmen will be able to do so throughout the evening portion of the event.  The fair will be open to the public from 3:15 to 6 p.m. Anyone wanting to attend the college/career fair and/or workshops are encouraged to park in front of the east wing (former Emma B. Ward school) and enter the main doors.
