UPDATED 6:30 P.M. WEDNESDAY — A high wind warning remains in effect for Anderson and surrounding counties until 10 p.m., according to the National Weather Service in Louisville.
Winds of 20 to 40 mph with gusts from 65 to 70 mph are expected throughout the evening, the warning says.
"Winds of this strength could result in widespread damage across the region and could cause already loosened branches and trees from the recent ice storm to fall," the warning says.
Citizens are advised to report severe weather to local law enforcement and have them relay the report to the National Weather Service in Louisville.
