Right before 22-year-old Lane Petrey gave birth to her first child, she had a nightmare about her son’s umbilical cord.
She said she dreamed she was in labor, all alone, with no knowledge of what to do.
A few weeks later, her boyfriend Ryan Pike faced the same scenario, cutting off his son’s umbilical cord after delivering their firstborn, Mason Ryder, at home with the help of an Anderson County 911 dispatcher.
