Ice storm closes government offices, schools

City and county government along with Anderson County's public schools closed early Thursday after an ice storm forecast to hit at noon arrived right on time.

The National Weather Service issued an ice storm warning for Anderson and surrounding counties earlier this morning. The forecast was for sleet to begin falling at noon and continue throughout the day and into Friday morning.
