The Anderson County Board of Health passed the health department’s budget, but had to pull roughly $90,000 from its reserve funds to do so.
The board passed the budget during a special called meeting last Wednesday night. Along with tapping its reserves, the board approved what amounts to a hiring freeze, no pay increases and not filing a position after a current employee retires.
