Anderson County High School wrestler and pole vaulter Ben Joseph recently signed to participate in both sports at Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, Ky. The ceremony was held at the high school.

Joseph, ranked as one of Kentucky’s top wrestlers over the last two years, will be part of the first wresting team at Lindsey Wilson history.

“Ben Joseph is an 11-6 pole vaulter on a 11-foot pole,” Lindsey Wilson coach Edwin Hagans says. “I believe once he gets on a 13- or 13.5-foot pole he will be jumping much higher. Needless to say he has a huge upside for Blue Raider pole vaulting.”

“Ben had a good high school career and I look for him to improve greatly under Coach Hagens at Lindsey Wilson College,” adds former Anderson track coach Travis Gay. “He ended his high school career with a (personal record) and a Top 10 finish in the state and he still has a lot of things he can improve on.”

Joseph chose Lindsey Wilson because of its academic program and will be majoring in either mechanical engineering or psychology.
