Broadband access in rural Anderson County could be just months away if an idea laid out by a candidate for judge-executive becomes reality.
Chip Chambers announced last Wednesday in a news conference that he is working with Simpsonville-based Shelby Broadband to allow the company to install antennas on South Anderson Water District towers that will provide coverage for approximately 60 percent of the county’s rural area. He said that figure could be even higher if Shelby Broadband is allowed to install the antennas on other highpoints across the county.
