Junior wins opportunity to test flight plan

Anderson County High School junior Blake Roach recently won first place in the student technology leadership program state competition in the area of aviation, according to a news release.
Roach has been invited to visit the Eastern Kentucky University’s Aviation Department and will have a chance to fly his winning flight plan on one of the university’s flight simulators.
The competition, sponsored by EKU, consists of different aviation challenges each year.
This year’s challenge was to construct a flight plan given specific criteria.
