Lady Bearcats advance to regional semifinal

BUCKNER -- Anderson County advanced to the Eighth Region tournament semifinal with an 8-0 win over Owen County at Oldham County High School Monday.

Anderson pitcher Courtney Turpin allowed just one hit, a seventh-inning infield hit, and struck out 10 to lead the Lady Bearcats. Miranda Drury stroked a pair of doubles, while Emily Ethington and Lauren Brown both had two hits for the Lady Bearcats.

Anderson will now play Oldham County in the semifinals, Tuesday, May 27 at 7:45 p.m. Oldham defeated Grant County 5-2 Monday.
