Anderson County exploded for four runs in both the third and fourth innings on the way to an 11-1 win over host Collins in the 30th District softball tournament championship game. The game was called after the fifth inning because of the “mercy rule.”
Sophomore Kaci Currens led the Anderson attack with two hits and five RBI as the Lady Bearcats, ranked 18th in the state, improved to 24-8 and captured their third straight district title, and the fourth in five years.
