Lady Mustangs heading to Rupp Arena

Will play Whitley County for state title; winning streak now at 64

The Anderson County Lady Mustangs are going to Rupp Arena!

They earned the spot opposite Whitley County in the finals of the girls' basketball middle school state tournament with a 42-27 win over Louisville Crosby in the semifinals on Sunday morning.

The championship game is set for Friday, Nov. 27.

The current eighth-grade team has run its winning streak to 64 games.

Anderson had defeated Casey County earlier on Sunday morning and routed Magoffin County and A.B. Combs, of Perry County, in Saturday's games. The Lady Mustangs have defeated their state opposition by more than 20 points per game.
