The Anderson County Middle School girls’ soccer team celebrated its Eighth Grade Night last Thursday.

They beat Owen County 4-1 to finish their season.

Madeline Wilson scored twice while Billie Clark and Autumn Miller added goals for the Lady Mustangs. Kennedy Smith and Hannah Drury shared keeper duties for Anderson.

“This group of eighth-graders will be a hard group of girls to replace,” said coach Daniel Rogers.

“They were very versatile and great leaders. Three of them, Allison Carter, Anna Cornish and Tess Taylor, were the anchors to the defense.

“Kayla Gunnels, Ashley Ramos and Mikayla Marshal we dependable midfielders and forwards as well. Each player brought something different to the team and I will miss them all.”
