LETTER: Lousy snow removal prompts change in vote

-A A +A

To the editor:
My family has lived in rural Anderson County for years. Never have we had a problem with our county roads like we have had this winter.
On several occasions, my neighbors and I have called the county road department to complain about the condition of our roads, and every time we get the same answer: “We will get to it,” but it never happens.
It has us all wondering where our tax dollars are going because they are not going toward our roads being taken care of.
During a recent call to the county road department, I was told that they had come to Deer Run Road, scraped it and put out cinders, but they had not because our road still had 2 inches or more still on it. That’s after calling three previous times.
Thirty minutes later the county truck came out. This is not right. Our kids have been out of school long enough. We all have bills to pay and when the roads are impassable that’s money lost.
I guess come next election my vote will change. We need someone that cares about our safety and the safety of our children.
