LETTER: Veterans Day service coverage was ‘very nice’

-A A +A

To the editor:
I just want to say that the article you did in the [Nov. 10 edition of the] newspaper about the Veterans Day service is very nice. I am so happy to see them getting some news coverage once again. You have been a good asset to the newspaper for our veterans and you are truly appreciated.
I also loved the “Column as I see ‘em” article. It is sad that so many of our elected politicians only put forth the effort to pay tribute to our veterans when it is convenient for them. I know they are not all that way but too many of them seem to fall all over each other when it is to their benefit. I will say that [County Clerk Jason Denny, city councilman Larry Giles, Mayor Edwinna Baker and Jailer Joani Clark] are dedicated and they come to almost every event that we host for our veterans. Hats off to all four of them for their support. Great article.
On behalf of the American Legion Auxiliary, Anderson Unit 34, we appreciate what you do for our veterans.
