Thankful Fox has ‘the guts to tell the truth’

To the editor:

I truly appreciate Mr. Schraub’s letter last week giving voice to my letter from the week before.

Isn’t it great that we still have freedom of speech? I take my freedom and that of my family very serious, as all Americans should.

I noticed you counted my paragraphs and I also noticed you feel I have no facts to back up my opinion. You seem to blame Fox News, Limbaugh, Hannity, and let’s not forget Glenn Beck.

People should be educated with facts, such as Glenn Beck exposing on of the president’s czars, Van Jones, a known communist who then went under ground.

Another is White House Communication Director Anita Dunn, who serves at the pleasure of the president but never had a background check.

While addressing a group of college students, she [reportedly] said that Mao Tse Tung is a man she admires most. Tung [reportedly] caused genocide, killed well over 20 million people, and was an anarchist and communist. There are over 30 czars that serve at this president’s pleasure. One wants your guns, another your religion, another supports redistribution of wealth.

I am so glad you know Fox News exists and I am thankful there is a place to get the truth.

If Fox is so wrong, why have The New York Times and other media outlets come out with the same stories, only weeks later?

Fox exposed ACORN’s [alleged] voter fraud. Other media outlets followed suit weeks later.

The media used to watch out for the American people, but not any more. If you want the facts, you have to watch Fox until someone gets the guts to tell the truth to the American people.

As far as Cloward-Piven ... you think that is so long ago but it seems like yesterday to me. Their idea to achieve a new government is very simple to them and Washington. To transform a new government you must destroy the existing one. Mr. Obama said, “in five days we will transform this nation” in a campaign speech he made in front of ACORN.

He has made a good start by taking over banks, privately owned businesses, housing and fired Americans from their jobs.

What has he done for the small businesses? Nothing.

I know many veterans who feel the same as I do.

How do you think they feel when their fighting overseas for other peoples’ freedoms and ours is being destroyed and our Constitution shredded? I will stay on the side of our veterans every day.

When the people fear the government, it is tyranny.

When the government fears the people there is liberty.

Popa John was ‘nice to everyone he met’

Editor’s note: The following was written by Heather Robinson, 7, in honor her God-grandfather, John Catlett, who recently passed away. It is printed here with her family’s permission.

Once upon a time there lived an old man, and we was very nice to everyone he met.

He could make anything involving wood, and could make a heart that said “I love you” for Valentine’s Day.

He knew almost everyone in Kentucky.

Sometimes I would pick an orange from BB and Popa John’s orange tree. It would taste so sour to me, but when Popa John tasted it, he would not think it was sour.

When he died I cried for two days straight. It was very hard to get over it, but I did.

I am still crying now.

Popa John wanted me to spell his name that way so I would not call him the pizza man.

I loved Popa John, but now he is gone. He is not on Earth, so I will never see him until I die, too. That will be a long time so, until then, I will just see and hear him in my prayers.
