Library announces annual summer reading program

This year’s theme for the summer reading program at the Anderson Public Library is “One World, Many Stories!”
The summer reading programs for the toddlers will be June 27 from 10-10:30 a.m., July 11 and July 18. All toddlers programs will be held at Anderson Public Library.
The summer reading programs for the preschool will begin June 27 with special guest “Doctor Phineas A. Bucket.”
The July 11 program will feature special guest “Barn Lot Theatre.” Closing on July 18 will be special guests “Rainbow Puppets Show.”All  programs will be at the Anderson Public Library.
This year the library has incorporated Monday evenings for preschool to school-age children from 6-7 p.m. beginning June 27 with Yolata Pace; July 11 with “Barn Lot Theatre;” and July 18 with “Steven Y. Caudill,” Daniel Boone of Kentucky. All Monday evening programs are at Anderson Public Library.
School age kindergarten through fifth graders will be on Wednesdays at the ECC gym beginning June 29.
Native American dancer will be July 6 at the gym with special guest “Coyote Chris.”
On July 13 Mike Hemmelgarn, comedian, juggler and ventriloquist, will be featured at the ECC gym.
On July 20 the program will feature special guest “Yurtfolk.”
The library also has a family evening schedule for July 15 with Mary Hamilton, a Kentucky storyteller, from 6-7 p.m.  
Last year the library had a friendly school competition between Saffell Street, Emma B. Ward and Turner Elementary.
The school with the most attendance was Saffell Street.
Everyone must be registered for summer reading to attend all the events.
