The Anderson Public Library’s board of trustees is denying nearly all of the allegations in a class action lawsuit filed last month that accuses it of “unlawful taking” and seeks hundreds of thousands of dollars in refunds to taxpayers.
The library’s attorneys filed an answer to those allegations last week, claiming “sovereign immunity” against charges of conversion and unlawful taking.
