Man dies after falling from roof

A 77-year-old Lawrenceburg man died Friday afternoon after falling from his roof on Joy Street.

When Anderson County EMS arrived at the scene, Norman D. Jones was in critical condition, said Maj. Amy Womack.

Jones was airlifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center, where he later died.

The home had one story, and Womack estimated Jones fell about 8 to 10 feet.

"The report we got from the family was that he was cleaning ice and snow from the gutters," Womack said.
