Man leaps to death from bridge

The death of a Lawrenceburg man who jumped Wednesday afternoon from the Tyrone Bridge was confirmed as a suicide, the Anderson County Coroner’s office confirmed Monday afternoon.

Jeffrey L. Wainscott, 43, of 207 Suzanne St., was pronounced dead shortly after rescuers with the Anderson County Fire Department and EMS recovered his body from the Kentucky River.

An autopsy performed the followed day revealed that Wainscott died from blunt force trauma that resulted from his nearly 300-foot fall from the bridge.
