A 21-year-old Galax, Va., man has been charged with his murder, the paper reported.

His mother, Tina Snow, also of Hillsville, grew up in Lawrenceburg and is a 1978 graduate of Anderson County High School.

In an e-mail to The Anderson News, she said she appreciates the outpouring of support she has received.

“Thank you so much for the condolences, it has meant so much to my family and my heart,” she said. “People are at a loss for words during something so tragic, but the sorrys have soothed my heart in ways no one will ever know.

“Bryon loved his family and we loved him, may he rest in peace,” his mother said.
