An unidentified man was struck by a train early Thursday morning, but mysteriously walked away before police could arrive at the scene.
The somewhat bizarre scene occurred around 12:30 that morning on the tracks near General Cable.
The man was walking on the tracks when the engineer of an approaching train saw him and slowed to around 10 mph, according to a report obtained from the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office.
