Maurice Bruce “Butch” Perry, 67, died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011 at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington. He was born June 15, 1943 in Anderson County, son of the late Sadie Elizabeth Hume Perry and Gilbert Perry.
Butch was a 1961 graduate of Anderson County High School, worked 16 years for Richard Gash Standard Oil, and 11 years for the City of Lawrenceburg Water Dept. He was attending Mayo Christian Church and a member of the Corinth Christian Church where he formerly served as an elder, deacon, and Sunday school teacher. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Bagdad Beagle Club.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Joyce Sutton Perry, two children, Scottie Bruce Perry of Lexington and Cindy Perry (Mark) Collins of Lawrenceburg, two grandchildren, Brooke and Lucas Collins of Lawrenceburg, two sisters, Mary Ann (Marvin) Carlton of Lawrenceburg and Bettye (David) Hicks of Franklin, Ind., a brother, Vernon (Linda) Perry of Lawrenceburg, several nieces and nephews.
Services were Tuesday, at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Perry and Bro. Roy Temple, Jr. officiating. Burial followed in the Corinth Cemetery.
Casketbearers were Phil and Larry Hicks, Roger and Lee Carlton, Jason and Jerry Perry. Honorary bearers were Maurice Cinnamon, Tom Wade, and Chester Griffieth.
