Anderson County Middle School eighth grade students recently participated in a mock trial held at the Anderson County central office. The trial was a cross-curriculum project between Mrs. Lisa Petrey-Kirk’s social studies classes and Mrs. Anissa Davis’ language arts classes. City Attorney Robert Warren Myles stood in as judge for the project. With the exception of the judge, students filled all roles in the courtroom and conducted a trial based on information given to them by their teachers, according to the school’s press release. ‘Witness’ Casey Meredith, left, is sworn in by ‘Bailiff’ Billie Clark, right. In the background is ‘chief clerk’ Naomi Lavelle and acting judge City Attorney Robert Warren Myles.
