The school board’s annual independent audit of its finances came back positive, despite a few hiccups regarding repeat errors and a “major problem” in the timely deposit of high school athletic event receipts.
Auditor Denise Keene, a certified public accountant from Georgetown, said at the board’s Nov. 19 meeting that she was very pleased to see the school district is “living within its means,” increasing its general fund revenue by about $220,000 for fiscal year 2011-2012.
