Garden club plans spring tour
The Woodford County Woman’s Club will hold its second annual Spring Garden Tour on May 14, the club announced.
The bulk of the proceeds from the event go toward the WCWC Coats and Shoes for Kids Program.
This year’s tour will feature eight private gardens with a wide variety of styles, including country gardens, urban gardens, formal and casual, and the landscaped grounds of the administrative building of a world-renowned horse farm and a tour of one historic home.
Three of the gardens are located in Midway and five are in Versailles.

Mercer County announces fall arts festival
The Arts Council of Mercer County recently announced in a news release that its annual Fall Arts Festival will be scheduled for two days this year.
The festival will be Oct. 8 and 9 at Old Fort Harrod State Park at 100 S. College Street in Harrodsburg.
The festival will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
“Fine artists and craft artisans will showcase their creations on the grounds of this historic site,” the news release said.
The main stage will feature live music and performances and the family-friendly event will have children’s activities daily.
Admission is free.
