Mackville Community Center, Lion’s Club host truck and tractor pull
The Mackville Community Center and the Mackville Lion’s Club will host a truck and tractor pull on Sept. 15.
The weigh-in will be at 4 p.m., with the pull starting at 5 p.m. Concessions will be available. For additional information, contact Eddie Noel at 859-262-5104.

Grill-Off fundraiser for clinic
to be held Sept. 22
The Anderson County Community Medical Clinic will be holding a Grill Master Grill-Off fundraising event on Sept. 22 from 9 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. in the County Park’s Lions Club Pavilion.  
Adult, children and team grillers will compete for Grill Master and to receive prizes. Registration for grilling teams is Sept. 15. The entry fees for the fundraiser are $30 per adult team, $20 per adult and $10 per individual child.
Other activities will also be held that include grilling demonstration by “Two Bald Guys and a Grill” (Bo Spencer and Bryan Conway), music and dancing entertainment, silent auction, raffles and grilled food sold by the high school marching band.
There is no admission charge but donations are welcome.  Event proceeds will benefit the Anderson Co. Community Medical Clinic, who is sponsoring the event.

MainSource Bank to purchase branch
Daryl R. Tressler, president and chief executive officer of MainSource Bank, announced last week that MainSource Bank will expand its presence in Kentucky with the purchase of an American Founders Bank, Inc. branch in Shelbyville.
The purchase includes the existing branch location at 1734 Midland Trail in Shelbyville, as well as approximately $37 million in loans and $37 million in deposits.
Subject to the receipt of regulatory approval and the satisfaction of customary closing conditions, the branch purchase is expected to be completed during the fourth quarter of 2012.
The Lawrenceburg branch of MainSource Bank is located at 1012 US 127 Bypass.
