Heather Norton of Lawrenceburg received the 2011 Public Health award and was named a presidential and Hutton Scholar during an honors day convocation at the University of the Cumberlands, the school announced.
A daughter of Tim and Natalie Norton, she has a 3.7 GPA and has made the school’s dean’s list in six of seven semesters.
She was also named an honor student for attaining a minimum 3.7 cumulative standing. While at UC, she “faithfully” served as a resident assistant and senior resident assistant, the school announced.
Norton plans to enter nursing school to pursue a bachelor of science in nursing and earn her master’s of nursing.
Her career goal is to become a pediatric nurse practitioner.
