November county judge race will be Gritton vs. Conway

Lundergan and McConnell will vie for U.S. Congress seat

Republican Orbrey Gritton beat Noal Cotton and Blan Lickliter to win the chance to challenge incumbent Democrat John Wayne Conway for Anderson County Judge-Executive in November.


Gritton collected 817 votes to win the Republican Primary race yesterday. Cotton received 797 votes and Lickliter received 70 votes.

Alison Lundergan Grimes will challenge incumbent Mitch McConnell for the 6th Congressional District U.S. Senate seat in November.

Lundergan received 2,696 votes and knocked off Gregory Brent Leichty 331 votes), Tom Recktenwald 247 votes) and Burrel Charles Farnsley 218 votes).

McConnell received 911 votes to come out over Matt Bevin 706 votes), Brad Copas 29 votes), Chris Payne 18 votes) and Shawna Sterling (51 votes).
