Oldham County scored 10 of the final 12 points of the second game to finish off Anderson County in the Eighth Region Volleyball Tournament semifinals, held at Shelby County High School on Wednesday night.
Oldham, which won the first game 25-10, staved off an Anderson rally that saw the Lady Bearcats pull even at 15, but Oldham County's Kelly Moyer recorded consecutive kills that seemed to deflate the Lady Cats.
“It seems like every time we got some momentum, they would come up with a big play,” said Anderson coach Jason McDannold. “(Moyer) is their best player and she was phenomenal tonight.”
Anderson, which advanced to the regional semis for the second consecutive year, saw its season end at 18-16. Oldham advanced to the regional final, where it will play cross-county rival North Oldham for the regional championship on Thursday night.
