Anderson County High School sophomore Cameron Peyton won the overall individual honors at the National Archery in the Schools Program World Tournament, held last week in Orlando, Fla.
Peyton shot a 298 out of a possible 300 during the tournament. Peyton connected on 28 tens out of 30 shots during the tournament. Peyton outlasted Bradley Long, the runner-up from Caudill Middle School, of Richmond, Ky., by one shot.
The Anderson County Middle School archery team placed third in the tournament. The team was also awarded the NASP Spirit Award.
